The Inevitable (2015)

“A work will have its beginnings in a casual architectural encounter: a bumped head, a narrow squeeze, a second glance, an unexpected texture. Such instances break from the usual streamlined experience of one’s surroundings and provoke a closer inspection of the structures we pass our lives within. They are unremarkable yet engrossing. The work seeks to be unremarkable yet engrossing. Curiosity having been piqued by the minutiae of the mundane, these anonymous features will become the impetus that drives the work, developing a sculptural response used to provoke a new understanding of the quotidian spaces one utilises; their dimensions and mechanics. What do these spaces do? What do they do for you?”
